The person in charge of Personal Data processing plays a role in, among other things, contributing to the implementation of the information security incident management process, where applicable; maintaining a Confidentiality Incidents Register that may have jeopardized the security of Personal Data; contributing to information security risk analysis in order to identify threats and situations of vulnerability.

In the event of an incident related to the protection of Personal Data, the person responsible for processing Personal Data will oversee the incident response or collaborate with other competent person as necessary and appropriate, to ensure  that any person affected by the incident, as well as the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the relevant provincial privacy commissioner, where there is a risk of serious harm and in compliance with the law, are notified.


  1. Direct and Indirect Collection of Personal Data 

ASTOR uses various methods to collect Personal Data, including through forms and interactions between you and ASTOR on its Website. ASTOR also uses cookies, server logs, and similar technologies to collect technical Personal Information about its users, as detailed in the browser cookies section ("Cookies") below.


  1. Purposes of collecting the Personal Data

ASTOR may process your Personal Data for the following purposes:


  • Provide you with the information of services you request (including responding to request for quotes, newsletters, etc.); 
  • Provide, perform, maintain, approve and promote its products and services; 
  • Collect information that will allow it to improve its Website, products and services (including through surveys);

Although there is no such thing as zero risk in information technology, ASTOR has taken the necessary measures to ensure the security of your Personal Data:

  • Access to the administration of the Website and related services is password-protected;

  • This Website uses an SSL security certificate that ensures that your data is encrypted when it is sent from your device to the computer server;

  1. Right to rectify data and “right to be forgotten”: You may request the rectification, updating, blocking or deletion of data concerning you that may be inaccurate, erroneous, incomplete or obsolete. 
  1. Right to object to automated processing and profiling. You have the right to know if we use you Personal Data to render a decision based exclusively on automated processing of such information. 


  1. Delay

ASTOR undertakes to respond to your request for access, rectification or opposition or any other request for additional information within a reasonable timeframe that will not exceed one (1) month from the receipt of your request. 


  1. Merger or Liquidation

In the event that ASTOR merges or transfers its assets to another organization (liquidation), Personal Data may be transferred to a third party as part of this operation, which will be bound by the same obligations towards you and your Personal Data.

ASTOR is not responsible for the data you provide that is collected by third parties (such as Google Analytics, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.) when you access the Website through these providers and has no control over the location of the data collected by them.

ASTOR complies with the Canadian Anti-Spam Act in its commercial electronic communications. When it collects your email, phone number, cell phone number or address, it uses this information in a manner that complies with the Canadian Anti-Spam Act. Thus, ASTOR may only send you electronic messages if it has your express consent or if it is permitted to do so by law. You may withdraw your consent at any time to no longer receive commercial e-mail messages. However, there are exceptions to Canada's Anti-Spam Act that allow ASTOR to send you e-mail messages.

The services offered by ASTOR and the use of the Website are not intended for persons under the age of 14. ASTOR does not knowingly collect Personal Data from people under the age of 14.
